Transportation

Boats were a big part of transportation and trade in Ancient Egypt because of  the Nile river. There were many different boats, but the first ones were made of papyrus reeds. The reeds were bound by papyrus rope, which is made from reed fibers. Later on they were importing lumber from Lebanon to make wooden boats.                                                                                                                                                Egyptians didn't like to travel often because they thought it was better to stay at home. They were afraid that they would die in the harsh conditions of the desert and they wouldn't get a proper burial, leaving them unprepared for the afterlife. Despite this fact they had to travel to get the things they need to survive. When they had to go to the desert they used a camel.

Natural Resources

Ancient Egypt was home of many natural resources that helped make life much easier. An example of this is that on the banks of the Nile River there was extremely fertile soil which made farming very easy. The Nile River also supplied fish and water fowl to eat. Egyptians also used papyrus reeds from the Nile River to make: paper baskets, sandals, and boats.

People in ancient Egypt also got their resources from the mountains and desserts. For example the Egyptians used limestone, and granite which was mined from the mountains and used for houses. They also mined for gold, copper, and semi precious stones that were used for jewelry.
